Stowe and Charlotte Vermont

As promised, I am writing a second post about the second part of my vacation after stopping in Somerville to quickly repack and head out with my parents. It was a quick and same-day turnaround. We even brought my laundry up to Stowe.

After returning to Somerville from Portland and repacking, Mom, Dad, and I drove up to Stowe, Vermont, and it was about a three-hour drive. Meanwhile, Rena went back to Winchester for personal reasons. We finally got a vacation in after so many changes happening this summer.

Highlights of the trip

Gondola Ride in Stowe: On Tuesday, even though it was a bit foggy, we took a gondola ride up to the top of Stowe Mountain and had lunch at a small restaurant. It was nice and we got to see the view even if it was cold and foggy. I enjoyed the views even if they weren’t the clearest one could imagine.

Burlington: On Wednesday, before meeting up with the Jeppsens, we had lunch in Burlington, which is the largest city in Vermont. I loved the picturesque town, and it was very walkable, much like Cambridge. Despite being surrounded by rural Vermont, Burlington is a town where a car is unneeded because its so walkable and has a lot of buses.

Overnight in Charlotte: Our last night in Vermont was spent with the Jeppsen family, and I shared a room with Mia. We got to take a private boat ride with them along Lake Champlain, and I didn’t even know this, but part of it was actually in New York instead of Vermont. We docked on a small island where Mia and I got soft-serve ice cream. While Dave and Carolyn were at a hearing, Mia took Mom, Dad, and I to Sunset Beach and Cookie Love where everyone got ice cream. Dave and Carolyn even came and the next morning, Mom, Dad, Mia and I drove to King Arthur before heading back to Cambridge.
