After my volunteer job on Thursday, we attended the Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl in Government Center. It is an all-you-can-eat ice cream festival and a nice way to beat the heat. Neither Mia nor I had never been but it was supporting a cancer institute and we had both encountered family losses to cancer so it was a nice way to beat the heat while honoring their memories.

On Saturday, I attended a concert in New York at Columbia University with Cambridge Common Voices. We performed and there were two sets but we got cut short due to a heavy rainfall and a lot of thunder expected. I sat with Nathalie on the bus ride and unfortunately on the way down, I put my water bottle between us and it caused a leak on the seat and a small part of it got on her. She was not mad but my portable charger broke so I had to get a new one. The choir had done this last year when Andy was on sabbatical and I was home by then.

Yesterday, we attended the Dragon Boat Race festival in Harvard Square. It was a blast and a nice way to get outside in the sun. I thought a bunch of the food was free but it was for the racers. We wandered along Memorial Drive (which is closed to cars on Sundays) and eventually saw a bunch of food trucks but didn’t buy anything.
