Christmas, Candlelight Concert

Merry Christmas to everyone once again. I got back to Western Springs on Thursday and had appointments with my psychiatrist and physician on Friday. Tom arrived late on Sunday night, and we had our kick-off the Christmas season dinner on Monday. It was almost a repeat of Thanksgiving, although we had ham instead of turkey, and there was no stuffing.

On Tuesday, which was Dad’s birthday, Mom, Dad and I attended a family concert at the First Congregational Church of Western Springs, but Tom was not interested. It was sort of like a play more than a traditional service. After the service, Dad and I delivered the kringles to the Morrisseys and the Stortz’s. We also gave a kringle to our housekeeper. For the first time, we made a gluten free yolouge cake. We also left cookies for santa.

Wednesday was Christmas day and we started with breakfast followed by our stockings. We then opened presents and I got a lot of nice gifts — a pillowcase made out of old pajamas, yoga clothes with a tote, a pouch, a purse and a camera set to name just a few. Our dinner was beef, mashed potatoes, carrot soup, salad and asparagus.

Since Christmas, we have been quite busy and I have worked on three puzzles — one for each of the tennis open cities minus Melbourne — and a Taj Mahal lego set that I received through the annual scavenger hunt. Yesterday, we played pickleball in Spring Rock Park.
