Early Thanksgiving Festivities, Dance Recital

It has been quiet on the blog lately. I, for once, feel more confident in all my classes than I remember feeling all year. Here are some of the non-academic events that have occurred within the past week.

  • Thanksgiving Lunch in Community Meal Planning. Community Meal Planning is the next step from Food Lab where we learn to cook for a whole apartment rather than for ourselves. Last Tuesday, Chloe, Mia, Lauren and I cooked and shared a Thanksgiving lunch with each other. I loved seeing the Bridge girls taste my cooking and especially my orange rolls (we’ll get more on that later) after my aunt’s recipe.
  • And even having a little bit of help from Lauren with the cooking. She helped me with stuffing and opening cans for a little bit before calling it a night. Even if the rolls did not look like Auntie Erin’s (mainly because I used gluten free flour), they were still a hit.
  • Dance Team Showcase. After a semester away from the Dance Team, I returned this fall as a Choreographer. Although Saumya was my only dancer after several had missed two practices or did not sign the community agreement, I am very proud of her. She learned the dance very well and even tried to practice it backstage.
  • Alumni Friendsgiving Brunch. The Threshold Alumni Center plans many events for the Alumni throughout the semester with a few each month. Yesterday we had a Friendsgiving brunch in the Alumni Center. I loved being able to see old friends and even meet new people
  • Morning walk with my fabulous (ex) roommate. Since we were still on campus on Sunday, Lauren and I did our normal outing to Porter Square. We walked up to Dunkin Donuts and it was nice to catch up with her. It was a nice wrap up to all these festivities
  • Double Work Shift. Since I am not going to be around for Thanksgiving weekend, I did a back to back double shift to make up my hours.
