Season Change, Visitors

We are officially in Fall weather and it is officially the start of the holiday season. I have completed my holiday shopping for Tom and the Mitchells plus Mia and Lauren. On Tuesday, which was Halloween, we did not do much this year because I am now part of CCV and they practice on Tuesdays. Mrs Jeppsen visited Wednesday-Friday and Mom and Dad visited Thursday-Sunday

This crew plus Mr Jeppsen and Sydney are like my Threshold family. Only Mom and Dad are really related to me, but Sydney calls me one of the most special people she knows. I’m not sure why Mr Jeppsen and Mrs Jeppsen are part of the family, likely just because they are Mia’s parents. And Mia herself, we have been best friends and neighbors/roommates for three years — this is our third year — and have been friends this whole time.

On Wednesday, Mrs Jeppsen arrived because she was giving a presentation on Thursday. It was a very productive day and we met up with her at the hotel that she was staying at. One thing that I found unique is that there is no conceriage person and instead they send you a check in code. I even tested the bed and joked that I was going to stay there with her. She even took us to Dudley Cafe to get a snack and then I had class so she and Mia went to Target alone.

Mom and Dad arrived on Thursday for a little family weekend and Dad and I even attended Mrs Jeppsen’s presentation. Unfortunately, we did not have a full on Threshold family reunion because Mom & Dad only overlapped with Mrs Jeppsen for one night and Mr Jeppsen stayed behind with Ruby in DC, but …

On Friday, which was our overlapped morning, the five of us met for breakfast at Starbucks and I even used a gift card that Mom sent me as a fall treat. It was nice to be able to catch up for a short term at least. Later in the day, I walked over to the Charles Hotel to meet up with Mom and Dad for a little family afternoon. At night, we joined the Undergrad students for Warm and Cozy Bingo where I won a Lesley blanket and then we went to Wilbur for the Musical Theatre Movie Night.

Saturday morning, I worked as usual and then we met up with a group of Threshold students plus GRA Madi and one of her friends to walk up to the Crepe place. They even had a gluten free flour and I got a Parisian crepe. Mia even got to go behind the counter, which I got jealous of, but it was only since it was her site. Mom and Dad took me to the hotel and onward to dinner in Seaport that afternoon, even giving me the option to stay with them at the Charles. Mia wanted me to stay with her so I did.

Today, Mom and Dad came to our room to help me find my bite guard, which we had no success but we finished our housekeeping. Mia even came into the room for part of this. They even took a lot of my holiday shopping and summer/cleaning items home. Also, since my laptop broke and I had to get a new one, I returned the short term loaner at Lunder Arts Center. Mom and Dad got the new laptop last night.
