We just finished the end-of-summer part of our vacation, which was to Martha’s Vineyard and it was a great closure before move in. Unfortunately, the remarks of various hurricanes were moving through Massachusetts this past week, so the weather was not what I would dream about for a beach vacation.
Highlights of the trip
- Biking: We rode our bikes a handful of times during the week. We were staying in Katama, right off of South Beach and we biked along the triangle, which was an amazing bike trail. I was the main bike leader, but Dad sometimes filled in for the unpaved road sections.
- Atria and Outermost: We had some days in the 70’s, so we were able to eat outside at Atria and the Outermost Inn. I got a wonderful Halibet at Atria adn a Swordfish at the Outermost Inn. Since I was only able to get us into the Outermost at 5pm, we watched the sunset and had our drinks after our meal instead of before.
- Ice Cream: I would never call anything a beach vacation without eating ice cream.
- Beach: We finally got some warmer days on the last two days so we were able to get to the beach and I was even able to get into the water. It was a blast and it was better than nothing, although we wish the whole week had more summery weather.
