Merry Christmas. We are very fortunate to have Uncle Tom with us and share our traditions with him. The festive part has been quite busy.
I did a lot of grocery orders in secret of my parents — green beans, cranberries, oranges, roast vegetables and cornbread ingredients– and no one knew. We also had stuffing and pie from Sweet Alis.
We had Chinese food for dinner on Christmas eve, which was also my Dad’s birthday. He got two recipe books, some shirts and a hat. Since it falls on Christmas eve, we did a yolog cake for his birthday plus a Roudalph gluten free cupcake for me.
Sunday morning was Christmas and we started out with a kringle, strada and bacon breakfast. There was even a gluten free strada for me, but instead of the kringle, I had an apple. We also opened our presents and it was a blast. I got a bunch of stocking stuffers, plus pajamas, a puzzle, new shoes and a suitcase found via the annual schavender hunt.

Sunday evening was when we dressed up for Christmas dinner — turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, carrot soup, green beans, stuffing, corn pudding, cranberry sauce and orange rolls. We did not have a salad, but we still had salad plates. The salad will come at New Years.
