Today I went to check out College of DuPage where I will be taking classes this summer. One of them has already started but the other three start on Monday. I am looking forward to it but also a bit nervous. It is a big campus and the classes are a bit bigger than what I am used to. Most of my classes have 30 students, and only one teacher. My undergrad class was like this but there was also a TA involved.
In Threshold, the only class that has 30 students and one teacher is Community Meeting. In all other classes, including electives which even have two teachers, there is a twelve student capacity. This is very different at College of DuPage. I am also taking these classes for credit and it is scary.
And every day I find myself in an adventure. I will need to have Mom or Dad drive me to campus. Unlike Cambridge, where everything is walkable and I can get everywhere on the MBTA, it is almost impossible to get anywhere in the Chicago suburbs without an automobile vehicle.
