Birthday Week, Baking

My 19th Birthday fell on a Wednesday, so I worked and went to my classes as usual. During my off periods, we had so much fun and did so many things that it’s hard to narrow it down to some highlights, but I’ll try

On Wednesday, we went to the Activities Fair instead of our community meeting. We had such a great time and got to see so many clubs. I am interested in the Dance Team, Circle of Friends and Threshold activities.

On Thursday, we did my favorite activity — a scavenger hunt around Doble Campus. There were six clues scattered around the outsides — except one of them was on the inside and we had to find them in the order to spell “Lesley”. We had to go to Wilber House, Kris House, Jenks House, the Fitness Centre, White Hall and the Basketball Court. While at the Fitness Centre, I inquired about my lost bite guard.

On Friday (yesterday) we had a baking and dance party where we made cupcakes and brownies. It lasted until well after 9pm, which was much later than usual. We danced through the night while we were baking and one of the glasses even got broken. It was so much fun.

Today (Saturday) we walked to Union Square for Fluff Fest. While allowed to wonder, we had to be in groups of two or more (and sorry, Bear-Bear does not count). One of my favorite things was seeing a “Canbury Street — City of Westminster” sign — just like in Marleybone. Not a surprise because we are in the New England.

Another thing that surprised me is they have Christmas lights out. What? How is this possible. Okay, the markets were selling pumpkin decor for Halloween and that is fine because we are so close to October, so we are on a six-week countdown to Halloween. I also saw a witch and a ghost in Union Square, which is fine as well. But the reindeer, reifies, Santa statues and Christmas lights? You need to wait until at least after Halloween.

After a little bit of rest in 308, I got a phone call from Eliana. She was over at Wilber and asked me to come over. She along with several other students had a surprise birthday party for me. There was so much excitement and we did so many things. She is allergic to nuts, so we did not have a cake, but we snacked and had pizza.

Instead of a traditional cake, Sydney, Mia and some other girls are going to take me out for ice-cream later tonight to continue the celebration. We are going to Berry Line and I can’t wait.
