September 7/8

I have moved into my dorm with the help of both of my parents. It was sweet and we got to meet the Nardellis because they came up to the room. Eliana had moved into the room two hours before me. We spent the afternoon running around campus together because there was a leak in our room. Public safety has been called and we requested a work order.

We spent today going through the orientation in University Hall and reviewing the safety rules. Some of the rules include not having guests in the dorm (we are allowed to visit other halls, but our halls are Threshold only) and we are required to wear a mask whenever we are outside our rooms.

At lunch at Porter Cafe, I met an undergraduate girl named Emily Hamby. We are hoping to go out to various places together, but I am supposed to stay with Threshold students for the first week. She was a Freshman Undergraduate student living in Lawrence Hall and we both exchanged phone numbers

During the past two days, Eliana and I have spent most of our time together in order to get to know each other. I am told my partner for outings does not have to be my roommate but running around campus to find help for our leak it made sense. We went to meals as a group, but we spent some time on our own. We are suppose to have at least one other student with us.

Back at our dorm, I got a lot done while Eliana was showering. I met with my psychologist (by the way, we had to change our time because of the crazy week) and then got to FaceTime Mom and Dad.

  1. Kate,

I was thrilled to receive the invitation to follow you on WordPress! I am sad that I won’t be able see you around LT this year, but I am so excited for you to start this new chapter in your life!

It sounds like you are very well-prepared and are already starting to make some friends. I would love to see some pictures of your dorm room and campus.

I am not very familiar with WordPress. I’m wondering if I’ll see a notification when you create a new post. I’ll just check back periodically!

Thank you for thinking of me and keeping me in the loop with your first year of college!

    Take care,

    Mrs. Voss
